WoodmenLife is committed to offering training to our Sales Representatives to help them grow and have the tools they need to best serve our members. Qualifying new full-time Representatives are invited to Sure Start, an interactive training event that helps them kick off their careers with WoodmenLife. During the 12 months following their Sure Start education, these Representatives have a friendly competition with their classmates to see how well they put their lessons into action and compare their sales achievements.

Congratulations on your Sure Start victory! How did you celebrate?
I celebrated with a limoncello toast in Italy, where I attended WoodmenLife’s annual Sales Incentive Trip.
What inspired you to choose a sales career with WoodmenLife?
I saw firsthand the impact a local Representative can have on a community. After speaking with that Representative and learning about WoodmenLife, I decided to become licensed — and I have not regretted it since! It has been life-changing for my family.
Have you always wanted to pursue a career in sales?
I never would have thought I’d be in sales. I just never saw myself as a salesperson. I still don’t consider myself a traditional salesperson. I just really believe in what I’m able to offer and love to advocate for protecting families’ financial futures.
What drives you to deliver great service for your members?
I believe my personal experiences have strengthened my drive to provide exceptional customer service. After experiencing a tragic and unexpected loss in my family, I understand the importance of having someone to turn to for help and support during difficult times. This motivates me to go the extra mile for all of my members.
What does success look like to you?
It’s achieving my goals and feeling fulfilled in my personal and professional life. It means being able to go home knowing that my efforts made a tangible difference in people’s lives, while still constantly learning and growing. If I’m happy and content with the path I’ve chosen, then that’s success to me.
Tell us a little about how you’re involved in your community. Why is community outreach so important to you?
I am involved in the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program in my area, I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce and I volunteer in various other roles within the community. Community outreach is important to me because it allows me to give back and make a positive impact. I believe it is our responsibility to help those in need and improve our surroundings.
Do you have a particularly memorable moment from your time so far with WoodmenLife?
One of the most memorable moments for me so far was when I knew I had earned the Sales Incentive Trip. With the help of my Recruiting Sales Manager and my colleagues, I was able to do that in only six months. It was a proud moment for me, and it reminded me of the importance of perseverance and determination. I had my doubts that I’d be able to achieve it, but I also had encouragement all around me.
What are your goals for the future?
Professionally, my goal for the future is to continue improving every day so I can provide the best customer service that I can for my current and future members. I am looking forward to dipping my toes into the financial services role and securing my securities license, so I have more solutions to offer my members. I am also looking forward to future opportunities that will help me to better serve within my community.
