WoodmenLife is committed to offering training to Representatives to help them grow and have the tools they need to best serve our members. Qualifying new full-time Representatives are invited to Sure Start, which helps them kick off their careers with WoodmenLife. During the 12 months following their Sure Start training, these Representatives have a friendly competition with their classmates to see how well they put their lessons into action.

Congratulations on your Sure Start victory! How did you celebrate?
I am not one for big celebrations, but I did get to have lunch with my Regional Director and Recruiting Sales Manager. I am very excited about winning the Sure Start trophy. Now I am looking forward to how I can make my community and family better through WoodmenLife.
What inspired you to choose a career with WoodmenLife?
I came to WoodmenLife after a 10-year career as a nurse. It has always been a passion of mine to care for and serve others.
Have you always wanted to pursue a career in sales?
I have been told by a lot of people that they thought I would work well in sales, but it was never how I saw myself. I love talking with and meeting new people and making new friends. I don’t really think of WoodmenLife as a sales job. I see it as more of an opportunity to serve others and help meet the needs of my community.
What drives you to deliver great service for your members?
As with anything I do in life, I try my best to treat others how I would like to be treated. When sharing the WoodmenLife story and working with my members, I pride myself in taking care of them the same way I would want my own family taken care of.
What does success look like to you?
Success to me is always giving 110% in what I do. I strive to always be the best that I can be and give the best effort that I have.
Tell us a little about how you’re involved in your community. Why is community outreach so important to you?
My family and I particularly love to take part in WoodmenLife chapter activities. I also am a member of Church of the Crossroads, where I hold leadership positions — I am the leader of the parking team, and my wife and I host a small group in our home. I am in my local Rotary club in Iuka, MS. My family and I are also active in sports in our community, and I have served as a coach for soccer, baseball and basketball teams.
Do you have a particularly memorable moment from your time so far with WoodmenLife?
My most memorable moment was sitting down with a new widow and putting into place the plan that we had discussed with her and her late husband. I love being able to help families plan for the future where the loss of a loved one can impact their lives. It gives me peace of mind knowing that when loss occurs, we created a plan that can best meet their needs.
What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future include continuing to be a top performer with the WoodmenLife Sales Force. Being a top performer doesn’t only come with income as a reward — it also shows the impact that will be made in the lives of people when they experience the loss of a loved one. I want to continue to grow and become more knowledgeable about this industry so that I can more effectively educate and serve my community. I also plan to complete my securities license, so I will have additional tools to serve our members. I am currently in the RISE Program — another training program with WoodmenLife — and cannot wait to continue to take the next steps in my career with WoodmenLife.
