WoodmenLife is committed to offering training to our Sales Representatives to help them grow and have the tools they need to best serve our members. Qualifying new full-time Representatives are invited to Sure Start, an interactive training event that helps them kick off their careers with WoodmenLife. During the 12 months following their Sure Start education, these Representatives have a friendly competition with their classmates to see how well they put their lessons into action and compare their sales achievements.

Congratulations on your Sure Start victory! How did you celebrate?
It is a celebration that keeps on going. I’d like to thank my peers, Recruiting Sales Manager (RSM), and family. Without them, I would not have been able to accomplish all that I have throughout my time with WoodmenLife. I celebrate them and am grateful for all their support.
What inspired you to choose a career with WoodmenLife?
I was looking for a career change. While trying to figure out what I wanted to do going forward, we had a death in our family. That made me want to help people and their families, not only in times of death but throughout their lives.
Have you always wanted to pursue a career in sales?
I haven’t always wanted to be in sales. Most of my life, I was in business management. But going forward, there is nothing I would rather do than to be a Representative for WoodmenLife.
What drives you to deliver great service for your members?
Every member has different needs. My job is to help them find the best solution for those needs. This gives them peace of mind knowing that their financial future and their loved ones are taken care of. Knowing that I have helped my members gives me great joy and drives me forward.
What does success look like to you?
Success, to me, is not a dollar amount — instead, it is in the service I provide. If I have taken care of my members and their families, then I have achieved great success.
Tell us a little about how you’re involved in your community. Why is community outreach so important to you?
I have done several community service projects. This is so important to me. Not only does it help my community, but it also shows how much we as an organization care about the lives and wellbeing of others.
Do you have a particularly memorable moment from your time so far with WoodmenLife?
I couldn’t begin to pin down one moment that stands out to me from my time with WoodmenLife. Nearly every day, I am touched by or have enjoyed my service to my community. Every moment is memorable when you are surrounded by such great, caring people.
What are your goals for the future?
My plan is to continue being a WoodmenLife Representative for as long as possible. My goals are to help every family I encounter. I am aware that this is a lofty goal, but that’s fine with me because it gives me something to keep chasing as I continue to help improve the lives of my members.
