WoodmenLife is committed to offering training to our Sales Representatives to help them grow and develop the skills they need to best serve our members. New Representatives are invited to Sure Start, a series of lessons that helps them kick off their careers with WoodmenLife. Throughout the year after their Sure Start education, Representatives have a friendly competition with their classmates to see how well they put their lessons into action and compare their sales achievements.
Get to know our July 2026 Sure Start Winner: Clancy Windham of Wesson, MS.
Congratulations on your Sure Start victory! How did you celebrate?
We actually haven’t yet — but we are planning a day at Top Golf and supper with my team and family to celebrate both mine and Pam’s wins.
What inspired you to choose a career with WoodmenLife?
My faith guided me. I had been home with kids for several years, and I needed a job that was flexible. I never imagined it would turn into such an amazing, meaningful career.
Have you always wanted to pursue a career in sales?
I went to culinary school and managed several restaurants for eight years before I had my youngest child and came home to stay with her. I don’t necessarily think about this career as sales — life insurance can help almost everyone, so the product sells itself. I enjoy helping people and educating people on the importance of being properly insured.
What drives you to deliver great service for your members?
I have an awesome Recruiting Sales Managers. She’s all about finding a solution and making sure her team learns something new with every opportunity. Because of that, I’ve learned so much about options for every member. It’s so satisfying to be able to help them piece together a plan that’s perfect for their family.
What does success look like to you?
I honestly believe there is no larger success than helping others.
Tell us a little about how you’re involved in your community. Why is community outreach so important to you?
Community outreach is so important — I LOVE being involved. My kids are very active in 4-H, I’m on the board of their local horse show association, I’m on the PTO at school, and I volunteer in the nursery and children’s church at our church. All of these have helped me connect with more members. I’m just blessed to be able serve the people of my community however I can.
Do you have a particularly memorable moment from your time so far with WoodmenLife?
One morning I was at the office and an elderly man called to update his beneficiary. His wife had just passed. I was able to sit with him, and he spent close to an hour telling me about her. Then he thanked me for listening. That brought me more satisfaction than anything I’ve accomplished so far.
What are your goals for the future?
Mainly to continue helping as many people as possible, to be boots-on-the-ground when my community needs it, to be selfless, and to raise my three girls to be the same way.
