At WoodmenLife, we believe community grows when people connect. One way we support that is through WoodmenLife Senior Days, which are fun and meaningful events for members age 55 and older.
These gatherings help members get to know each other, explore something new, and enjoy time together in a welcoming environment.
Many members say Senior Days give them their first experience with the community side of WoodmenLife. These moments help people understand the heart of our organization and often spark friendships that continue long after the event ends.
WoodmenLife Senior Days bring members and their guests together for social activities, local outings, and opportunities to build new relationships. We design these events to be accessible and enjoyable for a wide range of interests.
Every region plans its own events, but we always focus on connection. We want members to walk into a Senior Day feeling welcome and walk out feeling proud to be part of WoodmenLife.

Because our members have diverse interests, WoodmenLife Senior Days offer a variety of experiences, such as:
Community Outreach Advisor Kristy White shares her firsthand experience with WoodmenLife Senior Days and the people she serves:
“In Mississippi, I enjoy meeting new people and catching up with the folks who have participated in previous WoodmenLife Senior Days. It gives me the opportunity to get to know and befriend this segment of our clientele.
“The camaraderie between all the participants makes my heart happy, as well. It gives old friends an opportunity to see each other at least once a year. They catch up with one another through games, music, and great food.
“With WoodmenLife’s sponsorship of Senior Days, it shows the organization’s commitment to the quality of life for our members.
“Many participants, especially the single ladies, are not always comfortable traveling alone. Senior Day events give them an opportunity to socialize in a safe, comfortable environment.
“For a recent event, a highlight was a participant with a cancer diagnosis. She had never been to WoodmenLife Senior Days before and came with her sister. The event theme was County Fair.
“She entered her sweet pickles and won a blue ribbon. The pride that gave her was amazing. She said that the experience was one of the best in her life.
“For a Senior Day trip last year, we traveled to San Antonio. One couple were first-time travelers but longtime members. The husband has early onset Alzheimer’s.
“His wife wanted him to experience all he could before his health declines. She was by his side the whole time (while he carried her shopping bags). It was the sweetest experience seeing their devotion to one another.
“I am always amazed at the resiliency of our senior members and their thirst and enthusiasm for life experiences. I am so proud to work for an organization that is dedicated to making sure they know that they are valued.”
