In September, Hurricanes Helene and Milton left a trail of destruction across the southeastern United States. Among the hardest hit areas were in Florida and North Carolina.
After the hurricanes, WoodmenLife Chapter 3 in Jacksonville, FL, donated enough money — $30,000 — to fill a whole truck with supplies.
“We always try to help when disasters happen. This time, we could give enough for a whole truckload,” said Chapter Secretary Martha J . “Many of us know people impacted by the hurricane. We couldn’t do much alone, but together, we made a big difference.
“We know how bad these storms can be. We’re sending our support and prayers to everyone affected.”
In the weeks since the hurricanes, the WoodmenLife Sales Force in North Carolina West took every opportunity to help their communities recover. Led by Regional Director Chuck Farrior and Recruiting Sales Managers Joey Anderson and Clint Davis, they went to work:

Help also came from farther away. As news of Hurricane Helene’s destruction spread, Representative Zak Green of Haleyville, AL, felt called to help.
“I felt like I needed to give back and began discussing with friends and family what we could do,” Green said.
After reaching out to Anderson in North Carolina West to coordinate efforts, Green got a small team ready to travel and provide aid. Their mission was clear: to be on the ground, offering direct support to those impacted by the hurricane.
After arriving, Green and his team got to work by:
“The outpouring of support that WoodmenLife gave and will continue to give in the wake of the devastation is amazing and defines who we are as an organization,” Green said.
