Community

WoodmenLife chapters had another busy month! Our members showed their ongoing commitment to family, community and country — and they had some fun at the same time.

Above, Chapter 3698 in Houston, TX, held a teachers’ appreciation event at Pugh Elementary School. Volunteers provided a taco dinner for the teachers and staff, gave away prizes and told the WoodmenLife story. Pictured are WoodmenLife Representative Elizabeth Wentworth and Brook Taylor.

A flag-draped casket is transported on a horse-drawn carriage. Behind that is a 30-foot-by-60-foot American flag, held up in the air vertically by two cranes.

WoodmenLife Representative Andrea Osburn and Chapter 477 in Waycross, GA, coordinated a Celebrating Red, White & Blue® flag display at the funeral service for Sgt. Kennedy Sanders, who was killed in the line of duty. The funeral service was held in the Ware County Middle School auditorium; the 30-foot-by-60-foot American flag hung in front of the school before the funeral and throughout the service.

A woman in a red WoodmenLife T-shirt is standing and helping another woman, who is seated, with a craft project.

Members of Chapter 1366 in Bruce, MS, hosted a Valentine’s Day party for 25 residents of the Calhoun County Nursing Home. The event included crafts, refreshments and a box of chocolates. Pictured is Sandra Cozart.

13 people stand behind a table. The table has a white table cloth and is covered with tall cups.

Chapter 136 in Nathalie, VA, partnered with the Triangle Volunteer Fire Department for its annual stew fundraiser. All proceeds benefited the fire department.

A man and his daughter stand together for the photo. They are both soaking wet and wearing blue WoodmenLife T-shirts.

For the past 12 years, WoodmenLife Recruiting Sales Manager Michael West has represented Chapter 35 in Conway, AR, at the Polar Plunge in Greenbrier. The chilly event benefits Special Olympics. This year, his daughter, Madelyn, joined him.

A woman and a man stand on either side of an American flag, holding it up.

On behalf of Chapter 1770 in Savannah, GA, WoodmenLife Representative Bill Ross presented an American flag to Effingham County High School Assistant Principal Keri Morgan.

Two women stand behind a counter filled with donations — including deodorant and toothbrushes — for a local homeless shelter.

For its Common Bond project, Chapter 623 in Washington, NC, assembled and delivered gift bags to a local homeless shelter. Pictured are Judy Fulford and Fonda Gautier.
