WoodmenLife is committed to offering training to our Sales Representatives to help them grow and have the tools they need to best serve our members. Qualifying new full-time Representatives are invited to Sure Start, an interactive training event that helps them kick off their careers with WoodmenLife. During the 12 months following their Sure Start education, these Representatives have a friendly competition with their classmates to see how well they put their lessons into action and compare their sales achievements.

Congratulations on your Sure Start victory! How did you celebrate?
I am taking a trip to Canada with my friends to hunt for ducks on Lake St. Clair.
What inspired you to choose a career with WoodmenLife?
My dad and granddad both worked for WoodmenLife — my dad just started his 34th year. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to help people, like my dad and granddad did before me. So, when I graduated from Grove City College with high honors in Finance, I knew a career with WoodmenLife would be a perfect fit.
Have you always wanted to pursue a career in sales?
Not initially. However, I have really enjoyed it so far. WoodmenLife is the best in the business, and our products are competitive. The WoodmenLife Extras and our community outreach efforts are very appealing to people.
What drives you to deliver great service for your members?
I hear stories and statistics about young people who are in a deep financial pit and older people who will have to work much longer than planned. When I hear that, it makes me want to go out there and help as many people as possible from having a life of financial hardship. My goal is to help protect families, help them achieve their financial goals, and help them secure their financial futures.
What does success look like to you?
Success looks like a long career doing what you enjoy and are passionate about while also being able to support yourself and your family.
Tell us a little about how you’re involved in your community. Why is community outreach so important to you?
I am heavily involved in the community through our WoodmenLife Chapter 19 in Somerset, PA. This year, we have done two Giving Together projects, volunteered at and presented a $500 donation to the local food bank, served lunch for nurses at a local hospital, donated 4,000 bottles of water to local fire departments — and so much more. It really is something special to be able to give back to the community that supports you.
Do you have a particularly memorable moment from your time so far with WoodmenLife?
Working with my dad has definitely been something I will remember and cherish forever. I have been very successful in the career so far because of the guidance that he has provided me and the time that he has invested in me.
What are your goals for the future?
I want to be a Top Hat Sales Representative within my first five years of working for WoodmenLife.
