Here, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer Jon Aerni shares a family recipe and the memories that make it so special. Hopefully when you make it, you can create special family memories of your own.

My family and I were first introduced to Indian culture and food when we traveled to India to bring home one of our daughters. Our oldest daughter enjoyed the experience so much that she ended up studying Hindi in high school and is now continuing her study of the language in India.

As a family, we now eat Indian food often. We like to make this Mango Lassi as a special treat.

If you’re not familiar with eating or making Indian food, this is a great introduction. Lassi is a sweet and refreshing drink, and the recipe is simple.

Mango Lassi

Ingredients:

1 cup chopped very ripe mango, frozen chopped mango or canned mango pulp

1 cup plain yogurt

1/2 cup milk

1 Tbsp. honey or sugar (more or less to taste)

1/4 tsp. ground green cardamom, or the seeds of 5 or 6 cardamom pods

Steps:

Mix all ingredients in blender until smooth.
