Chapter 1 in Pensacola, FL, is the winner of WoodmenLife’s first-ever Chapter of the Year award. The chapter’s dedication and support have set a new standard for community service, earning it this well-deserved recognition. Chapter 1 also received a $10,000 cash prize to further make a difference in the community.
Recruiting Sales Manager Craig Hatcher of Crestview, FL, emphasized the chapter’s approach in touching four key areas: community, First Responders, fighting hunger, and family.
This focus not only strengthened the chapter’s bond with the community but also led to an increase in new members and a greater impact on helping people find the life insurance coverage they needed.
Florida Community Outreach Advisor Kelly Andrews praised the chapter for its dedication to supporting local WoodmenLife members and identifying areas in the community that need the most assistance.
The chapter’s consistent support for the community has been a key part of its success.
“Chapter 1 has always been a flagship chapter for Florida,” she said. “You can expect 100% commitment from this chapter and its officers. Every. Single. Time.”
During 2023, the chapter made a difference in the community with several new partnerships, including a $5,000 donation to a middle school academic team that helped the students travel to a national competition.
Other new partnerships resulted in $10,000 donations to the Boys and Girls Club of Escambia County, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Foundation and Ministry Village at Olive Baptist Church.
All the donations were made to serve the chapter’s mission to support the community, First Responders, families, and fight hunger.
Chapter members also maintained established partnerships. Around Christmas, they donated shoes to the Pensacola Dream Center, a nonprofit organization that helps women who have been sex-trafficked, battered or suffered other hardships.
Additionally, the chapter joined Escambia County Schools to provide backpacks of food to area children.
As such, one important element for the Chapter of the Year selection is to recognize the chapter’s efforts to support its Sales Force. WoodmenLife Sales associates are often the first points of contact in the communities WoodmenLife serves. They are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those who need help the most.
Chapter 1 supported the WoodmenLife Sales Force by inviting nonmembers to meetings and involving Sales Representatives in activities. This contributed to the addition of 30 new WoodmenLife members in 2023, helping to protect the financial futures of even more families.
Hatcher shared his thoughts on the chapter’s journey to success.
He initially had doubts because there were so many incredible projects done by chapters across the state and country. However, working on meaningful projects alongside a close-knit chapter gave him a sense of fulfillment, and he knows how much value the chapter’s efforts have helped the community.
The recognition of WoodmenLife Chapter 1 in Pensacola, FL, as the Chapter of the Year is proof of its contributions and dedication to making a positive impact. As the chapter leads by example, its influence on the community and beyond will continue to inspire others to do the same.
